FLAMING WORD – P20

1 Samuel 17:17-18

17 And Jesse said unto David his son, “Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren.”
18 “And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.”

Jesse was David’s father. Three of his sons were enlisted in Saul’s army. David’s lot was to tend the flock of his father, Jesse. Jesse gave David the opportunity to tend the flock in the wilderness. It didn’t seem as exciting as being in the army.

In the above verses, we see David receiving another instruction from his father to go into the camp and check on his older brothers—how they were doing. He was to “run to the camp.”

Little did he know that in running, he was running into his destiny.

Spiritual fathers have the power to hasten their spiritual sons’ and daughters’ feet into their divine destiny. This comes about by simply obeying divine instructions.

Spiritual fathers guide by instructions. In the things of the spirit, obedience is key. God will not take you to your next level if you fail to obey the very first instruction you received.

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God will not usher you into greatness if you are not willing and obedient. When you receive a divine instruction—run.

“Take now for thy brethren”… The provisions were not for David. They were for his brothers, yet he was to run with them.

We are our brother’s keeper. Sometimes, you might have a need, but God will require you to be a blessing to someone else. In prayer, the Spirit of God can burden you concerning someone instead of praying for yourself. Can we be there for one another? Can we rejoice with the rejoicing and mourn with the mourning?

Our blessing is in learning to be obedient to divine instructions.

I see you running in obedience to your divine destiny.

Shalom.
