DOING GREAT THINGS IN A LITTLE WAY!

As part of Women Torchbearers Worldwide’s mandate to prepare women across the globe as ready brides for Christ, we embarked on our Annual Prisons Outreach at the Akuse Women’s Prisons. This initiative forms part of our vision to not only build women spiritually but also to extend love, compassion, and practical support to women in vulnerable situations.
This year’s outreach was made possible through the generous contributions of our donors and the unwavering commitment of the Torchbearers family. Together, we provided essential supplies such as toiletries and groceries, alongside a packed lunch meal for all the inmates. These items, though simple, were received with deep gratitude, reminding us that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring light and dignity to someone’s day.

Beyond physical support, we shared words of hope and encouragement, reminding the women that their present circumstances do not define their worth or their future. Many were uplifted by the message of life, grace, and restoration, which we trust will continue to strengthen them both in their daily living and in their walk with God.
As part of the visit, we were given a tour of the facility and exposed to several of the prison’s empowerment projects, including a poultry farm, fishpond, and other skill-building initiatives. These programs not only keep the women meaningfully engaged but also equip them with practical skills that can help them reintegrate into society after their release.
In addition, we supported their handiwork by purchasing beautifully crafted hand-made fans, a gesture meant to encourage their creativity and assure them that their talents hold real value.

The outreach was a time of giving, learning, and mutual inspiration. It reminded us of the importance of service, compassion, and the power of community. As Women Torchbearers Worldwide, we are deeply committed to continuing this mission and look forward to next year’s Prisons Outreach, trusting God for greater impact and even wider reach.
