FLAMING WORD – P3
JUDGES 13:4
“But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the Lord, that He might seek an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time, the Philistines had dominion over Israel.”
Samson had a clear understanding of his purpose. God was going to use him to break the dominion of the Philistines over His people, Israel.
To infiltrate their camp, he decided to marry one of their women. This seemed strange to his parents, as it was not right for an Israelite to marry a heathen. However, in this case, the Bible says, it was of the Lord.
God’s dealings are always in line with one’s purpose, and it is absolutely important that, as a child of God, you hear from Him so you know what He wants you to do. It is very dangerous to do as one pleases because there is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Prov. 16:25).
To hear from God, you must spend time with Him—through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Remember, deep calls to deep.
Child of God, on your destiny journey, know and do the will of God. Don’t settle for what merely seems right, nor blindly copy someone else. That is deception, and deception is of the devil.
Doing the will of God might not come with the support of many. It is often heartbreaking, especially when loved ones, whom you would expect to understand, rather try to lead you contrary to God’s will.
However, remember that, at the end of the day, each of us will be held accountable for our time here on earth.
Make the right decision to do the will of God, regardless of who you offend or lose. Yes, purpose sometimes requires that you pluck out an eye or cut off an arm, just to make it to heaven. In other words, purpose will sometimes separate you from loved ones who serve as obstacles in your pursuit of your divine purpose.
Let us run the races set before us. Let us finish our individual courses.
Walk in the peculiarity of your calling or purpose.
Shalom.
