FLAMING WORD – P16
1 SAMUEL 17:11
“When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.”
Goliath the Philistine, for forty days, had been defying the armies of the living God. He had been calling out for anyone who would have a duel with him. His words made King Saul and all Israel quake with fear.
Fear is of the devil. The words of the enemy are intended to destroy. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Whenever he speaks, he unleashes fear.
Fear is the absence of faith.
Faith is necessary if we are to subdue the kingdom of darkness. Kingdoms are subdued through faith.
Hebrews 11:33
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
Goliath represented a kingdom, and Saul, another kingdom. Goliath was putting his life on the line. He was prepared to die for his kingdom. Sadly, there was none in the camp of Israel, neither King Saul nor any of his officers, who was prepared to stand for their kingdom.
The church of the living God is constantly, day in and day out, being ridiculed, in our offices, in the streets, in the media, even in our homes!
Who is on the Lord’s side? Who will stand for the kingdom we profess?
You are a king.
“and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
